DISAPPEAR is layered with so many twists and turns that it just fuels you even more to keep reading and not let go until the end. Keira is a woman on the run from a psychotic hit man/ killer but worse, she thought love of her life is dead. Revenge is the only thing running in her mind when she devises a plan to fake her death.

Keira Cavanaugh witnessed a murder and finds herself in protective custody and falling in love instantly with the FBI agent who was keeping her safe. She knows that if anything happens to him, she will die but she trusts him and will leave him behind if something happens and the hit man finds their safe house. They were lucky the first time but luck at times runs out. When it happens again, her world dies but she must follow their plan and she must leave him behind and go back home.

Tyler Beckett is an FBI agent who has been working in Hancock Industries for two years but still could not find evidence of two men being the same or something to pin DeLucca with. He finds himself wanting to protect Keira, the eyewitness who can bring the hit man down but what happens is that he falls in love with her. He does his best to keep her safe but is unsuccessful. When he finds himself awakening from his injury, he finds out that Keira has disappeared, a suicide at the hands of the Golden Gate Bridge.

A murdered detective, an eyewitness to a murder, a miscommunication on the actual hit man for DeLucca, a leak in the department…what else can be said but that there is so much going on it will leave you breathless. The other characters that come into play, Detective Soloman and Agent Despain, are incredible. This story line has so many good points that it becomes believable because nowadays human trafficking is being heard about more and more. The way that Keira was able to get close to where they had the young girls and put her own life at risk was very courageous. As the story progresses, the author gives you a few clues of who could be the leak in the department but you still have your doubts. Sure, Keira and Tyler fell in love so quickly but what can you do with love at first sight, and the passion that radiated through the reading burnt up the pages.

This is my first read of this author, Mary Martinez, and believe me I will be anxiously waiting for Innocent to be coming out this summer and read what will bring Jessica and Gabe together again. I highly recommend DISAPPEAR to readers that love to read a very well written, suspenseful, mysterious and passionate book. DISAPPEAR will leave you breathless.
