DUSTED is an interesting mix of paranormal and fantasy with mighty alpha-type shifters and gorgeous fairies. Addition of little knickknacks when it came to magic added to the already interesting plot and made me pay attention.
Matt Blood is a bounty-hunter shifter from another planet who accidentally got left behind and spends his time chasing low-lives. On one such occasion, his mark got blasted out of a window and Matt headed straight for the perpetrator. Little did he know the person to blame was a fairy and one who not only heats up with his magic but his looks as well.
Rum and Blood quickly get together and set on solving a crime that is threatening to expose the whole paranormal and extraterrestrial community to the human public.
This was one of those stories that for me got worse after the sex started. I loved the guys and their mysterious/dangerous personas as well as the way they sort of fell for each other. The POV switches as well as the female detective Petra appealed to me and I had no issues reading about her side of the story either.
But after the sex, things started moving too quickly for me and the plot unraveled with surprising ease. Yes, I needed a bit more there. Also with the risk of sounding somewhat forward, the sex just didn't do anything for me, with the exception of the first scene which was nice. Considering that, there was too much sexing going on when there should have been more romance instead.
It is a nice little story with hot men and lots of sex, something one might enjoy on a work-free day, just as I did.

What do you get when you mix an off planet shifter, a sexy fairy and a dead drug dealer…fairy-smacked! DUSTED is the first in a new series and it shows a lot of promise.
Matt is a sexy bond enforcement agent who just also happens to be a bloodhound shifter. He first comes in contact with Rum when he thinks that Rum has just shoved the man that he was there to take back into custody out a window. Their first meeting doesn't end well, but their second meeting is explosive.
I have to say that I felt the main characters being from off-planet was a little superfluous. I mean, wasn't it enough that they were shifters and fairies but you had to make them interplanetary as well? But the farther into the story-line I got, the more it played out for me. And if they weren't from another planet, we would never have gotten the story of how Matt was left behind, and that was so worth it.
Just when you think you are going to find out the how and why all these other species are on Earth, the story shifts and we are left hanging. Well played, Ms. Sands, well played. I for one will be picking up the next installment for two reasons: the first is to find out why the aliens are here and the second to find out if Petra gets to see Littlejohn's "goodies" up close and personal.
This was a fun, sexy, well-written novella and I for one can't wait to see where this series goes next.
