Contemporary Romance

Corporate attorney Samantha Greco needs some peace and quiet to come to a decision about her career. Instead, while an icy nor'easter rages outside, she finds herself trapped in a cottage on Fenwick Island with Aiden Rourke, a man she used five years ago when she ran from the heartbreak of her fiancé's betrayal.

Aiden Rourke has loved Sam for years. For one glorious night she was his. But then she fled, wounding his ego and his heart. Thrown together again, they soon discover time hasn't diminished their fiery passion for each other. Only Aiden has ever been able to melt Sam with just a look or a touch. But the fear that she's like her mother, who used men mercilessly, scares Sam to death.

The storm outside is nothing compared to the storm of desire, fear, and guilt raging inside Sam. But during their wild weekend together, Sam and Aiden draw closer and realize their all-consuming passion for each other masks deeper needs and desires.

When the storm ends, will they go their separate ways? Or will they find the courage to face the future together as one?

Storms are unpredictable as they can either come in light with no damage or come in hard and heavy, leaving destruction in its path. Most of all, there are times when storms come in that brings out something sensual, the desire between individuals that just seems right.

STORM OF DESIRE starts off quickly but doesn't let up. It keeps you entranced in needing to see where this storm of desire will head to. It all has to do with a choice that Samantha has to decide on—to run away again or to stay and make a life with Aiden, a man who adores her. The passion these two feel for each other is breathless. He makes her feel protected and loved but her memories of her mother's indiscretions with men make her think twice about her own feelings towards Aiden. Her mother hurt her and therefore, she doubts if Aiden truly wants her. Sure, they burn up the sheets with their passionate lovemaking but were the feelings mutual?

When she finds documents of her past, will she finally be able to forgive her mom and move on with her life or will she run away again? Will Aiden be able to forgive her?

STORM OF DESIRE is my first read from Cara Marsi, and I am truly grateful that I picked up this book to review. It's a book that is romantic, has passion and yet it gets to the point. It's refreshing and enlightening and makes you wonder if many people get second chances in fixing a long lost love. In also mending a relationship with your only family and trying to see if there could be a way to move on with that relationship and be able to have a mother/daughter relationship. I became lost in this book, and it makes you think of the "what if's" in life. Even though it's a short read, it made sense of what could happen and seemed realistic. The love scenes were sensual and erotic and tender all at the same time. I was truly moved with this book.

If you like a story that takes you into a time of sensuality and passion even for just a short period of time, this is for you. Read STORM OF DESIRE and see how this icy storm melts your heart for Samantha and Aiden.
