This is the 6th book in the Moonlust series but it very much read like a stand -alone, and coming from me, that is saying something. I am usually completely nuts about reading series in order, but in no way did I feel like I was missing out having not read the previous five books. Since I enjoyed this book so much, I will be going back to read the rest of them.
At first Megan annoyed me, as I am not a fan of stupid heroines that constantly need saving. But after learning a little more of her background and knowing how alone she was in the world, I was a little more forgiving. I enjoyed watching her character grow and take control of her life.
Ry is kind of like the perfect guy. He is a complete alpha male but understood when Megan had to do things on her own, and not only did he stand back to let her, he helped give her the tools to make sure she could take care of herself.
I appreciate when an author doesn't rush the emotional aspect of a relationship. Which, considering the length of the book, could have easily happened. The chemistry and physical needs were there and off the charts but the truer deeper feelings didn't happen right away and gave the book much more depth and realism.
If you are looking for a well-written quick paranormal read then I would suggest you pick up Moonlust and enjoy!
