It's been a year since Sophie lost her husband and daughter in a car wreck but time hasn't healed her wounds. A desperate choice leads her to Trevor, the handsome stranger who saves her life and leaves her wanting more than just a few steamy kisses.
Trevor is content living the fast-paced life of a successful NYC entrepreneur. The last kind of complication he needs is a troubled woman like Sophie. But he's immediately drawn to her even if his bachelor instincts scream for him to run.
As Sophie struggles to fight her growing feelings for Trevor, she's torn between her past and the future. Somehow, she has to find the strength to finally let go and move on with a man who is everything she never thought she wanted.

Losing your husband is an emotional turmoil that no one wants to go through. Believe me, I know. But losing your child at the same time is something that would be unbearable. I think that is why I chose this book to read. The sense of starting your life once again is hard but you need to start living again because no doubt that is what your deceased spouse would like.
REPRIEVE is pure joy to read. The emotions that are felt while reading this book are astounding, as it pulls the reader into a place of pure love. Scarlett Scott did an amazing job writing this story, as it holds you from the moment you start reading. I found myself smiling so much during their encounters because Sophie seemed so fragile and innocent that it amazed me that she felt so much passion for Trevor. The chemistry pull they had towards each other was just lovely.
An accident that could have taken her life, and now she's wondering that it could have been a mistake but could not comes to terms with her deceased husband and her daughter. That was the life of Sophie but within a matter of weeks, it seemed that she could not wait to see Trevor again. There was something about him that made her feel alive. That brought on guilt because how could she think about being with another man, kiss another man or make love to another man, but there was something about Trevor that made her think all of that was possible with this man.
Trevor was a man that struck me as dominating but in a good way. He had a way of talking to Sophie and guides her in the direction that needed to happen in order for her to move on with her life. There were times that his words were harsh but they somehow got through to her. Trevor wondered why he had strange feelings for this woman because she surely was not his type. He did not do relationships but mainly he did not believe in giving his heart to no one. Only that Sophie did get under his skin but could she truly love him and not still be in love with her deceased husband? Could she actually love him and have a life with him without feeling guilt?
Scarlett Scott did a beautiful job in REPRIEVE. Sophie so deserved to be happy once again with a man that would do anything for her. Pick up REPRIEVE and witness the transformation of Sophie and her journey of moving on with her life. I can't wait to read Perfect Persuasion and find out what happened to Sophie's sister, Claire and her marriage.
