Action/Adventure Romance, Erotic Romance, Fantasy Romance, Paranormal Romance, Vamps & Shifters Romance

The flame within a dragon warrior's heart awakens Arianna's passion as she begins a journey in which she will discover she's something more than she ever imagined possible.

The realm of the dragons is a world of magic, danger, and mystery. For centuries they've been at war with the vampires, but now the two enemies must work together to save all immortals, and the mortals they co-exist with, from an ancient evil. In order to do so, they need the help of the Forsaken, descendants of immortals who were cast out into the human realm, their memories wiped clean of their true heritage.

Clayne MacDagon is a powerful dragon warrior who is sent on a mission to find one of the Forsaken. Although he's told that this woman is his fated mate, he can't believe it could possibly be true. Arianna Mergliano possesses both dragon and vampire blood, and Clayne has an intense hatred for anything even remotely related to vampires, the evil beings who were responsible for his beloved twin's death.

When Arianna meets Clayne, she's convinced that the man is insane, or maybe he's a warlock or even the devil himself, but whichever it is, she wants nothing to do with him.

Clayne knows he can't fail at his mission. And once he meets Arianna he also knows that what he's been told is true—she is, ironically, his intended mate.

Convincing her to accept him is only the beginning. He has to protect her from those who might want her dead. Together, they must face the shadows and evil that have long plagued the immortal realms and find a way to survive the coming war.

Clayne MacDagon has been told that a woman possessing both dragon and vampire blood will be his mate, which is ironic, considering how much he dislikes vampires. But together they will have to face the shadows of evil and survive the coming war in this intriguing paranormal romance.

This steady paced plot draws readers into a fascinating world of dragons, vampires, gods and goddesses with lots of suspense and passion. The strong compelling characters grab the reader's attention from the very beginning. The reader can't help but get caught up in Arianna and Clayne's story as their chemistry explodes from the pages at first meeting. Sparks fly in every direction as Clayne in his bossy, arrogant and insufferably dragon way overwhelms Arianna and claims her for his own. The desire between them erupts in some hot and steamy (literally...he is a dragon after all) sex scenes but their relationship is not all sunshine and rainbows especially in the beginning.

Spine tingling tension builds as a manipulative and demanding goddess with a hidden agenda interferes in Clayne and Arianna's mating and of course danger from the evil vampires who would like to use Arianna for their own ends. Magical enchantments and realms full of magical beings add lots of intriguing excitement to the story. The author keeps the readers on their toes with surprising twists, interesting elements and a fascinating world of wars political intrigue (gods and kings) and extraordinary characters.

Despite the fast mating, the first half of the story seemed to drag a little but the second half made up for it. I also found that the dialogue seemed a little stilted as well but both of which may have something to do with the fact that I haven't read the first one yet. However, it didn't stop me from enjoying the story so I am looking forward to reading the next one.
