I don't read a lot of m/m stories, but, when I do, I want them to be super hot and ooh la la worthy. Caroline Stephens has created one just like that and hooked me instantly. The characters she created were amazing. The plot line, in the time in history that this takes place, is amazingly created.
I was instantly transported to a time and place where being gay was not something that you could openly show or discuss. Sam, trail boss and sexy cowboy, is one of those gay men. On a ranch where there aren't any women, he needs to find love; he needs his release. So, when ranch hand Drew shows up, Sam can't help but be attracted to the devastatingly sexy cowboy who gets his blood pumping in all the right places. What's more, Drew is equally attracted to him. Content to stay quiet about it and enjoy stolen moments for just the two of them with no one around.
But then, in a devastating moment, one passion-filled moment, things turn sour. Will a witness and one mistake cost them all they've come to achieve and ruin their future for their own home so they can enjoy each other? Will their love be enough to pull them through?
I definitely recommend this story to those book junkies who love the sexier side of cowboys and romance. Definitely worthy of 4 stars, this short read will hook you instantly and take you on a ride of your life! I'm looking forward to reading more of Ms. Stephens' work in the future.
