DESTINED FOR THE DOM by Jan Bowles is a sweet and sexy BDSM romance about two people who are reunited after years of being apart. The combination of hot erotica and tender romance makes this a delightful read.

Zoe Leighton and Hunter Black grew up together at St. Mark's children's home in Pittsburgh. When she was just 16 and Hunter was 18, he set out into the world and promised to come back for Zoe. Fourteen years later, one of Hunter's biggest regrets in life that constantly weighs on him is that he broke his promise to Zoe. Having seen so many horrible things during his time in the Middle East with the Marines, he lives a solitary life knowing the things he has seen have damaged him emotionally. When he reconnects with Zoe after all of these years, can two people with such troubled pasts ever truly be happy?

I very highly recommend this book and give it 4 out of 5 stars. The writing is excellent with captivating characters that drew me into their story. This is the second book in the Masters of Submission series. If you haven't read the first book you could easily read this book as a stand-alone. I read both books and I really liked the first book, but I think I actually enjoyed this one even more. While this book doesn't have the mystery that the first book did, it does have absorbing drama with two characters who both have issues from their past. To my delight, the characters from the first book also make a brief appearance in this story.

I loved both Zoe and Hunter, and I was rooting for them the whole way. Zoe has had to take care of herself and she's very strong and independent. She doesn't waste time feeling sorry for herself for not having an easy life, but presses forward with determination. Hunter is burdened by survivor's guilt and struggles with nightmares and regrets. Their issues from their past cause conflict and tension between the two characters, creating an emotional roller coaster at times. I was hooked from the first page of this story and could not put it down. I'm hoping for more books in this great series.
