Without warning, the Rogue he is hunting…aptly dubbed the Collector…steps outside his modus operandi and fixates on a beautiful ER doctor. Styx insinuates himself into her life in hopes of stopping the killer. But all too quickly, the killer isn't the only one obsessing over the irresistible doctor. Shocking disclosures soon come to light about the woman Styx has been assigned to protect, and dark secrets from Styx's past come back to haunt him, putting Kate in jeopardy. If he refuses to break an old vow, Kate's life could hang in the balance…but if he goes back on his word, Styx just might kill her himself.

She melted his heart with just one smile. Will Styx be able to keep Dr. Kate O'Rourke from the clutches of an obsessed maniac without killing her in the process?

There is a rogue vampyre on the streets of Tacoma. Beautiful women are being abducted. Some are found dead, drained of their blood; others are being turned into monsters. The TFRA (Task Force for Rogue Apprehension), an agency that tracks rogue paranormals, has dubbed him "The Collector", and he has chosen Kate to be his mate and prized possession. Both Styx "Nico" and Zack have been recruited by Crispin, a TFRA agent, to help bring down this deadly predator. Under much duress and assumed names, Zack and Styx move across the hall from Kate in order to protect and keep her from becoming The Collector's next victim. But will a revelation about Kate's family history and an old nemesis from Styx's past bring them closer together or destroy them both?

This is a true paranormal love story. Styx, a sexy vampire, is happy with this quasi-playboy status. He can't possibly see himself being tied to just one person. This all changes when he meets Kate. His metamorphosis from a love 'em and leave 'em type into a smitten, protective male is exactly what everyone looks for in the ultimate hero.

Kate is a driven loner who is consumed by her career as an ER doctor. She has little time for a relationship and wouldn't recognize passion if it hit her on the head. The more time they spend together, it is apparent that their attraction is not fleeting. Both Kate and Styx have major trust issues, but once they let down their walls, their emotional and passionate. The chemistry between Styx and Kate was nothing short of electric. To call this book spicy is a total understatement. It was sizzling hot!

While this is a highly romantic tale, this book has also some seriously tense moments that had me on the edge of my seat. There is also a twist that I never saw coming. Ms. Huber has the ability to draw you into the story and keep you thoroughly entertained. Her introduction of each character was so well written it made me want to know more about each of them, and they could easily get their own story. Ms. Huber has definitely found a new fan in me.
