Amanda Martin has the worst taste in men. After being cheated on not once, but twice, she's lost all faith in men…and in herself. Determined to regain her confidence, Amanda decides to have a one-night stand. No relationship, no promises, no threat of being hurt again…just sex. What she doesn't anticipate is meeting a handsome-as-sin stranger who will give her pleasure unlike any she's ever known.
Joe Sterling has spent his life avoiding relationships, his former job as a military sniper not allowing for such commitments. Now he's come home to Texas, to let go of the past and to prove he is more than the killer he's been trained to be. When Amanda's life is threatened, Joe's killer instinct is tested while Amanda struggles to protect her heart. Will they succumb to their overwhelming desire for each other, or lose it all by letting the past dictate their future?

Amanda Martin has made herself believe she has the worst taste in men, simply because enough of her chosen partners have cheated on her over and over again. But she finally grabs back her confidence, thanks to her ballsy girlfriend Sam. Samantha suggests hopping bars and clubs and going for a one-night stand instead of always hunting for Prince Charming.
Amanda takes Samantha's advice to heart and hits the jackpot on her first bar where she meets not just sexy-as-hell Joe Sterling, the owner of the bar, but also an admiring ass-grabber, Clete, who learns soon enough that Amanda can punch like a pro and land you on your own ass on the floor. Clete is thrown out of the place and banned from the bar but he goes away with a grudge and revenge against Amanda on his mind.
Joe Sterling had spent many years avoiding relationships, having his own devils to deal with. At first the encounter with Amanda is treated by him like just a night or two of wild sex. Amanda too is thinking along these terms. But the one night is so hot it turns – mutually – to two. And then three. And four…
Obviously they mean more to each other than they'd planned for. But while misunderstandings drove Joe away, enter Clete with a load of revenge and evilness. Even the tough puncher Amanda can't defend herself against Clete for countless rounds…
ONE NIGHT STAND is a short romance that needs only one or two sittings, written well with emotional insights and the baffling human condition always skimming above the surface. I particularly enjoyed the sex scenes: realistic, steamy, graphic without being conducted a dozen times nonstop in a single afternoon.
