Winston Biggers wanted a woman he couldn't control, nothing like his secretary. May Davenport thought that commanding alpha heroes only existed in her steamy romance novels, the opposite of her uptight boss. But when fate brings these two together, they learn that truth is kinkier than fiction.

An office romance that sets the corporate world on fire…

A common story, boss falling in love with his secretary, yet it has one of the most unique twists I've ever read. That made what could have been an "OK" story a memorable one. And along with a great plot, steamy love scenes, and a happy ending, I found that I just couldn't put it down.

May Davenport can't stand her boss, Winston Biggers, but she's infuriatingly attracted to him. The more he ticks her off, the more she fantasizes that she has the chance to knock him down to size and have him at her mercy. Win Biggers likes women who are a challenge, but for some reason, he can't stop the fantasies of May and him doing naughty things in his office. So when a kinky set of circumstances bring the two of them together, they learn that sometimes the reality is even better than the fantasy.

This is the first book in the Corporate Series by Bridget Midway. We meet May and Win who both lust after each other but can't own up to it. They seem to want two different things, but they learn a lot about themselves as they explore the possibilities of their relationship. This book is erotic and a whole lot naughty. I can bet that you will not be able to look at your boss's desk the same way ever again.

The arrangement between May and Win that I will call "Day and Night" (I don't want to give anything away) is so unique that I couldn't stop reading. I had to find out where it was all going to end up.

I enjoyed watching the transformation in May at the story progressed. The woman in the beginning of the book would have never survived what she had to go through at the end. Win had some of his own issues that came out in the book, and I think that made him more human and much more loveable.

Some of the other characters, like Madame Z and Princess aka Mistress Payne, really added some wonderful dialogue and even a bit of comedy to the story. These female Dominants made me shiver at times as well. I was certainly glad not to be on the receiving end of some of their punishments. The BDSM element was prevalent in the story, so be warned if you are not a fan of the sub-genre.

Overall, I thought that this was a common story, boss falling in love with his secretary, with one of the most unique twists I've ever read. That made what would have been an "OK" story a memorable one. And along with a great plot, steamy love scenes, and a happy ending, I found that I just couldn't put it down. So, I am giving this 4/5; the way it all came together just worked for me.
