Love is an emotion that you should never run away from; you should embrace it with all of your might.
I do have to say that the beginning of this book had me laughing because it is so true how some doctors don't really like having pharmaceutical representatives in their office. Since I work in healthcare, I know that some of the pharmaceutical reps are stunned that they can actually come into our clinic and speak with the medical providers. The representatives that come into our clinic bring either medical equipment or new medications that are just coming out for different illnesses. I'm sorry to say this but some of our providers don't mind them coming in because it's free lunch, but others don't agree because it might not be cost friendly to the patients. Okay, enough with that. Let's get to the good part, the reason why you should pick up this book.
Alexandra "Alex" Morrison has lived a difficult life. When her mother suffered breast cancer, her father stayed away. He hired people to take care of his wife and that meant leaving Alex to fend for herself. Hence, she became self-sufficient woman who never relied on anyone, especially her dad. Alex wanted to go to college but her father wanted her to work in his publishing company. She refused. When she moved to Dallas, Texas, her best friend Cooper followed her. Cooper was the one person that she could rely on. Her own demons do not allow her to form a relationship and when something serious is happening, she runs away.
Dr. Grayson Brooks lost his trust in women when his fiancée, a pharmaceutical rep, cheated on him with many men. He didn't have any use for pharmaceutical reps, either, which was why he couldn't understand why he would give a certain redhead (Alex) the time of day.
Their relationship flourished quickly and soon, they are having their first date and they go to his apartment. Things are getting hot and heavy. As time passes, everything seems like it's going well; they can't seem to get enough of each other. They have lots in common and get along well. But he is keeping a secret, and soon, Grayson's past comes running back to haunt them and Alex has a medical downfall…
RUNNING TO YOU is a very sensual romantic story about two people who have trust issues. Alex runs away because she was rejected in a past relationship, but also because of her experience with her father. Grayson, however, is a man that is full of love and passion, and he is someone who will be there to soothe your soul. He expresses his love by his actions, for example, the touches he gives Alex. I do have to let the readers know that this book was written from Alex's point of view, and at times, I felt that Alex was so harsh with Grayson but I understood where she came from. She told him the truth about her demons and he didn't tell her the truth about himself and his family. Alex's emotions are all over the place and it's not good for her, as she needs to stop running.
However, the storyline is perfect. The pace of their relationship is a little fast, but they have some hurdles to overcome before they can have a happily ever after.
RUNNING TO YOU is a delightful read that will literally leave you wanting more. When you read the ending of this book, you will know why. I can't wait for the second part of this story.
