This is a new favorite author for me. I absolutely loved this book from beginning till the end. Riley is a recovering drug addict that has seen some very deep and dark places but what's coming next is going to take her to a whole new level. Riley gave up her old lifestyle to provide for her brother, whom she loves dearly. Ever since quitting her old lifestyle she has trained to be a badass fighter. Riley is one of those kickass heroines that aren't scared of much.
Eli is a drop dead gorgeous vampire on the good side and is assigned to protect Riley after her brother gets involved with a group of boys that are going through the change to become a vampire. Eli is not only drop dead gorgeous but he is also lethal, strong, protective and in control.
The relationship between Riley and Eli is a bit of an annoyance in the beginning for Riley because she doesn't like having him in her house. And she surely doesn't like being told what to do when she can take care of herself. But eventually they can't keep their hands off each other and that's when the story gets hot.
This book was written at a great pace. It was a great page turner that flowed beautifully. It had a great balance of action, relationship development and romance. Sometimes I get aggravated with cliffhangers but I loved the ending of this book. I was really happy with it and it was also perfectly set up for the next book.
I would recommend this book to fans of Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance. Normally UF lacks romance but this book didn't and that was one of the things I loved. There is some violence and sex scenes but nothing too crazy. So if you haven't read this book or added it to your list of books to read, you need to do that right now because this book is a must read!
