What happens when an adventurous mom meets the father of the best man and the mating pursuit begins? Boundaries are pushed and it's a race to see who wins. But falling in love lets everyone win, as Kitty and Jared find out.

Kitty is as in-your-face, and takes-no-prisoners, makes-no-apologies as a woman can get or wish to be. And yet you can see her well hidden insecurities and vulnerabilities too. She is not perfect, she makes mistakes and that is what I loved about her. After a brief encounter at her daughter's wedding with the best man, she meets his father. She's intrigued, but when Jared opens his mouth and inserts his foot, she's very glad she has a plane home to catch.

Jared knows that he's made a mess of things, but is willing to not try again. And so his pursuit of Kitty begins. And Kitty pushes back; hoping that the more she asks for, the less likely Jared will be to comply. But Jared's willing to expand his comfort zone and let Kitty take the lead in their lovemaking. What's supposed to be a brief, hot affair becomes so much more as they both slowly find their emotions engaged and they start to fall in love. The run towards and pull back, and chase between them is an amazing journey to watch.

Sometimes, you also need a little help from your friends for you find what you really want, even if you won't admit it to yourself.

I loved that while not really old, the characters were more mature than most are in romance books. The author proves that there is no age limit on finding love. That no matter your age, you can still learn and grow and push your boundaries for the right person. The characters in this book are very well done, with depth and the knowledge learned from having lived life. Everything about Kitty and Jared were amazing.
