Carson lost the love of his life four years ago. As a mortal, he'd given Laci his heart. But then he went and screwed it all up. Now she's back in Juneau—and he's a werewolf sentinel. The moment he sees Laci again, his mating urge takes hold and he knows he must have her. In every way possible. To win her back, Carson must prove he's worth more than a thrilling ride in bed. He's worth forever.

Laci decided her ex wasn't going to keep her from the city where she'd been born and raised. She's over him, after all. At least she thought so, until he touched her. She doesn't want to risk her heart, but can't resist her sexy ex. As Carson and Laci grow closer, the shifter side of Carson's life is revealed before Laci is ready. And he has to hope their newfound relationship will be enough to help her accept the man he's become.

LOVE ON THE ICE is the seventh book in the Werewolf Sentinels series from the talented Marisa Chenery. It was an incredibly sexy and touching story. I really enjoyed reading it and it just may be my favorite book in this series.

I have been more than a little intrigued with the fun loving Carson ever since he came into the series in Ice Hunter's Mate. So as the series seemed to be winding down I couldn't help but feel a bit sad that maybe the writer wouldn't have time to tell me his story. Pleased as punch that Ms Chenery was taking pity on this poor obsessed reader. I jumped right on this book as soon as I saw it come up. I'm glad that I did because it was nothing short of an amazing story.

Carson has embraced his new life after his sister's mate was forced to turn him into a dire wolf to save his life. Still, he can't help feeling a bit lonely as his wolf brothers have all found love and are busy with their mates. So when an old love comes back to town, Carson wants to try again. Not so surprisingly, it seems his old flame just happens to be his true mate. But things ended badly and Laci doesn't want anything to do with him.

As the story goes, fated mates are damn hard to resist so it doesn't take the love struck wolf long to make his move. Things are going good and he is trying to convince Laci that he is a changed man. Oh boy, has he! He wants to win back her heart before revealing just how big the change is, but danger is stalking him and the truth comes out sooner than he expected.

So here is the deal: I liked everything about the story. No surprise there as I love the series. It is surprising that this is hands down my favorite of the series. The writer used a lot of humor in this one. The scenes with Carson the dog just cracked me up. Laci is giving him a bath and all the time he's having these really lascivious thoughts. I laughed at that one and I like having a smile on my face when I'm reading a book. This was a fun book to read and I enjoyed that very much. The steamy sex scenes definitely put a gleam in my eye. *Grin* They were smokin' hot and it's a wonder the pages didn't go up in flames. It was also a very romantic story with the two souls reaching out. That part was very touching.

So I guess you've figured out by now that I loved this book. I love the series and wish it could go on forever. It's a sexy and fun book to read that put a smile on my face. So I'm recommending this book to everyone.
