If you're looking for a feel good Christmas story, this book will make you smile and give you a warm fuzzy feeling.
Chris moved back to the town of Christmas Cover when he got fed up with his cheating fiancée and the bright lights of Hollywood. He didn't realize he would be walking into the middle of a "turf war" between his mother and Chrissy, a native of the town who came back after her own Hollywood career and started a coffee/cupcake shop. As his mother owns a similar shop, she had an intense hatred for her competition. The first thing she does is ask her son to spy on her, which he agrees to do just to make his life easier. He doesn't expect to fall in love with Chrissy. While their relationship develops, his mother's dislike threatens to ruin anything that could be.
This book was so sweet and cute that I wish I could rate it higher and to be honest, I did enjoy it. It's a great story for Christmas reading. It is nice, it has a happy ending for everyone and it's the kind of story you want to sit with reading while drinking a cup of cocoa when it's snowing outside.
However, I felt like the story may have been a bit too long and drawn out too much. The focus was more on the dislike the hero's mother had for the heroine than the love story between the two main characters. Also, there were quite a few grammatical and word errors that I found frustrating.
Overall, it was a sweet story and I like the premise behind it. It will definitely make you feel good.
