Life is relatively normal for bush pilot Kerra Cain. That is, until a fallen angel reveals himself, with plans to use her to destroy the Seven Seals. To escape, she must place her trust in the arms of Gareth, a dangerously sexy but enigmatic man who has haunted her dreams for years.
Thrown into a desperate war for survival, Kerra must embrace a heritage long denied her in Knightfall, the passionate first tale of the Guardians of the Seven Seals, a romantic fantasy series about innocence lost and heroes forged in a time where a supernatural war threatens to consume the world.

He's a Guardian, sworn to protect The Seven from any and all danger. Even if that means killing the sexy, spunky girl he has been sent to watch. She's an orphan, who has worked hard to become a bush pilot with her only family, her dog Beacon, by her side. Are they destined to fight on opposite sides of the war of The Hidden, or could there be something more the Nos' Prophecy then meets the eye?
KNIGHTFALL by Berinn Rae introduces a new series about The Hidden. Every fairytale and myth has a base in truth and this writer has used some of these classic characters as a base for her own. Ms Rae has created a world within our world that draws the reader in with intricate rendering of characters and the rules that they live by.
Kerra Cain loves to fly. With her trusted company, Beacon, she flies supply runs to remote locations in the Alaskan wilderness. Kerra has chosen to live away from society, sick of the lies people tell. A person's aura tells you when someone is lying or up to no good. That's how Kerra knows when someone isn't being truthful—she can see auras.
Gareth has been sent to watch Kerra. The Seven, the Governing body of The Hidden, believe she could be a danger to their entire world. Or she could be their saviour. It is Gareth's job to find out which she is – protect her if she is part of the cure and destroy her if she is playing for the other side.
Gareth and Kerra are thrown together when the evil Malgrin comes to claim her for his side of the battle. Kerra must quickly learn about a world that is completely new, to live within the rules and help avert disaster. At the same time, Gareth and Kerra will fight feelings they never knew they could have.
The pacing of this story is quick and compelling. The detailed world is well constructed and explained to the reader through Kerra, the new inhabitant to the world. This first book sets up the premise for the rest of the series well and the reader is compelled to read the next installment.
A great read can be found in Ms Rae's work. If you are a fan of stories by Meljean Brook and Sherrilyn Kenyon, I would encourage you to try KNIGHTFALL.
