He wants to give her everything she desires. She deserves the wedding of her dreams after all that they have been through. It sounds so simple but gets really complicated with family issues and an old enemy determined to stop the wedding at all costs. With a little help from their friends and family, they just may get their happily ever after.

This is a shorter story set in the world of the Fallen Guardians after book three. It is the first time the author has offered a novella in the series and it is a real treat for those who love the series and the characters. You get to see all your favorites as they gather to celebrate the marriage of Blaéz and Darci. They have only been together for about six months but have packed a lot of action and passion into their relationship. She has given up so much to be part of his world and he wants to give her back something that she has wanted since she was a child - her dream wedding.

Blaéz is a warrior who is still suffering with the pain of his long imprisonment. The nightmares are hard for him to escape but having Darci has provided him with the love he was so long denied. He is devoted to his mission to protect the world from evil but the most important thing to him is keeping his fiance happy and safe. One thing that Blaéz has a hard time resisting, besides Darci, is winning a bet. When she mentions the idea of them having no sex before the wedding, he is quick to take on the challenge and prove she will be the first to give in to the temptation. He is pure temptation and very hard to resist. The bet between them is nothing compared to the danger they face from his enemy who has returned to prevent their happy day from happening. Blaéz will have to be stronger than ever to keep his bride safe from harm and end this threat once and for all.

Darci never thought she would find love. When she met Blaéz, it was the first time she believed she might have a happy ever after. She had to risk so much to save him but never questions it. His desire to fulfill her dream of the perfect wedding means so much to her. Darci wants her family and their friends to share in their joy and is terrified that his enemy will ruin it all for them. She believes in Blaéz and in their love. They are such a passionate couple and you can feel the heat every time they are together. Their bet only increases their passion for each other.

This series has so many supernatural elements that it is really fun to see those elements mixed with very human experiences. Weddings tend to bring out the best and worst in people. For them, they have to deal with some family issues as her brother is not so sure this is the right life for her. They also add in an abstinence bet that keeps them very much on edge. Their friends like to tease them too and it adds some lightness to the story. They need that lightness and those friendships when his old enemy comes back and is determined to make sure the marriage never takes place.

The author does a really good job of providing a lot of backstory without making it feeling repetitious to those who have read all the books. It feels very natural when she includes those details you may have forgotten but are very relevant to the story. She also includes a dictionary to familiarize the reader with the terminology and even pronunciations are included. While I do think those who are already familiar with the storyline will get the most enjoyment, I do think that there is enough detail provided for those new to the storyline to jump in and follow along. I suspect it will make them very interested in going back and reading the earlier books.

This novella set in the world of the Fallen Guardians is a great addition to the series. It is so unlike the other books in the story and offers more of a fun look at the characters as they take on the very human concept of a wedding. Blaéz wants to give his mate Darci the wedding of her dreams and their friends and family are all along for the ride. You get some real family drama and a fun abstinence bet that keeps them both on edge. There is an enemy determined to prevent the wedding so you have action too. While it is best read by those familiar with the series, it does include enough backstory for someone new to enjoy the story and the characters. I highly recommend it to those who have enjoyed the series. The inclusion of so many of the characters from the earlier books makes it feel very much like a reunion with old friends.
