Gabriel Caine stands on the edge of the abyss. A vampire has stolen his soul and if he doesn't get it back soon, his next step will be into Hell. Only the naïvely mysterious Rose can help him retrieve it. Without her, he really will become the devil himself.

Rose Walters has been sent back from the dead to complete one task-save Gabriel Caine. She's drawn to Gabriel on the most basic level, but restoring his soul may cost Rose her life.

Rose has touched the whole of Gabriel, making him yearn for a love he believes he can never have. Her willingness to put her human life on the line for him forces him to bring all three parts of himself—demon, human, and Fairy bloodlines, and the strengths of each—into harmony and into the fight that decides their fate.

A powerful debut novel that will capture your heart and soul.

"He looked like a dark angel, messed up beautiful."

Rose Winters has been brought back from the dead. She has just one task -- save Gabriel Caine. The problem is Gabriel doesn't want to be saved, especially not by a petite, red haired minx who makes his demon side struggle to break free. Gabriel is a "tribread", part fae, part human and part demon. His soul, or at least most of it, has been stolen by Satine, a dangerous vampire vixen who wants Gabriel all to herself.

While Rose doesn't really understand how she is supposed to save the Gabriel, she soon finds herself thrust into a world she didn't even know existed. There is a war brewing between all things paranormal and it appears Rose is going to be a major player. While trying to keep her head intact, Rose becomes increasingly attracted to Gabriel. Though the feeling is mutual on Gabriel's end, he is not into relationships and does everything in his power to push Rose away. Will Rose be able to complete her assignment without becoming a casualty in the chaos? Will Gabriel regain his soul without falling prey to the dangerous Satine?

I love a good love story where the characters are a bit damaged. Rose's background is less than perfect, and Gabriel has a past that he'd rather forget. Rose was a great heroine who was ballsy and smart. Gabriel, as well as his brother, Justin, and cousin, Kellan, were the best kind of alpha males -- loyal, dangerous and oh so sexy. I even liked Satine. She was evil and wicked to the 10th power. Magdalena de la Cruz, the resident witch, was also strong and could hold her own.

Ms. Ashworth's story had action and a great plot that kept me engrossed. All the characters were well written and totally enjoyable. I loved the characters and totally want more. (Magdalena and Justin - definitely a potential couple that needs a book of their own.) I liked Ms. Ashworth's writing style -- fast and to the point with some humor thrown in. I will definitely buy her next book.
