Trust isn't easy when the ones you want most are out to get you.

Ten years after she ran away from Earth, Lou Campbell is one job—just one more collar—away from earning enough credits to go home. All she has to do is lure Sam Dawson within range of her handcuffs with the promise of fast, hard sex. Easy.

Once she gets him there, keeping her own hands off him isn't so easy.

Sam's committed his share of sins, but he's not guilty of selling secrets. Before he can convince the sexiest bounty hunter he's ever seen that he's been betrayed, all hell breaks loose. And he's on the run with a false accusation on his hands—and a bleeding woman in his arms.

Alone in her boss's safe house, Lou and Dawson's simmering attraction explodes into full-blown fireworks.

When Jared Flores walks in on his best hunter and ex-lover in bed together, the surprise is mutual. Worse, the need he has long felt for both of them overrides his better judgment. After the fists fly, the sparks catch fire into a budding three-way romance.

Then Sam disappears, leaving Jared and Lou in a race against time to not only retrieve their lover, but save his life.

THE LAST DETAIL was quite a surprise. I'm a big fan of Melissa Schroeder's Little Harmless series, but I haven't read much else of her work. So, this futuristic menage was quite a departure from what I am used to. Suffice it to say that, I was pleased with the fantastic plot and smokin' hot lovin' I have come to expect with this author's work, but there was so much more.

Lou is a bounty hunter from earth trying to earn enough money to get back home. This next capture may give her that goal, if not for the fact that she wants to sleep with this man, Sam, as badly as she wants the money for his capture. And when she finds out that Sam is also the former lover of her boss, Jared, the possibilities become complicated...and very arousing.

Set on an unknown planet in a year somewhere in the future, the world building was great for such a short novel. We are thrown into this unknown world and are immediately immersed. It was amazing to me how fast I became immersed in this world.

I loved these characters. Each one of them: Sam, Jared and Lou were so much deeper than what was originally presented on the surface. And while their pasts shaped who they were, they also needed those experiences to bring the three of them together. The depth of character and emotion each one of them possessed made me root for them all the more.

The love story, while quick, seemed natural. Sam and his former lover, Jared, had a past. And Lou and Jared had a past. It seemed to work for me that they would all be in love with each other, and it made for some very steamy interludes.

So, I thought that THE LAST DETAIL had it all, fantastic world building, an interesting story, steamy sex, and a sweet HEA. I devoured this in one sitting and was a bit disappointed when it ended.
