Book 1 of Superpowered Love
Erotic Romance, LGBTQ, Paranormal Romance

Econ student Hansen Marks has been hot for Sam MacLeod since they first bonded over their secret superpowers--literally hot, since Hansen can produce fire from thin air. But soccer star Sam was always covered in girls, so Hansen kept his attraction in the closet and convinced himself that "best friends" was better than nothing.

When Sam's electrical powers freak out in public, Hansen has a sinking feeling they've been spotted by unfriendly eyes. While dealing with the fallout, Sam's emotional dependency on Hansen forces their mutual attraction to the surface. Even after they give in, Hansen is afraid to admit he's in love. Sam doesn't really like guys, he's just feeling vulnerable...right?

Just as their nights are heating up, it becomes clear Sam's electrical explosion was seen, and now someone has it in for both of them. They'll have to save each other, both from the haters and from their own fears, if they want to maintain equilibrium.

A delightful love story between two friends with superpowers. Written lightly and in a funny way, it's a great read to decompress from the day to day activities.

From childhood, Hansen knows he has powers. His mother trained him to control his powers and explained to him the importance of keeping his powers in secret. When he sees Sam in the university's cafeteria almost blowing up the toaster, he realizes that Sam also has powers. After talking with Sam and realize that he knows nothing about his powers, Hansen and Sam become friends.

They share an apartment while Sam works and Hansen does his masters. But the quiet life of both is shaken by an accident caused by the disarray of Sam's powers.

EQUILIBRIUM is a delicious story to read. The friends to lovers story is well conducted and the paranormal elements give a nice touch on the characters. Too bad that these elements are not much explored in the story.

The story is told from Hansen's point of view. We feel his attraction to Sam and his conflict because of it. And when both are involved, we feel his insecurity and fear of surrendering completely to the relationship between them. Despite it all, Hansen's voice is very funny, sarcastic and light, which makes the book a very pleasant reading. Sam is also an interesting character. He knows what he wants and that is Hansen. They form a perfect couple. Even Vanessa's, Sam's ex-girlfriend, has her charm.

Overall, EQUILIBRIUM served as a great first impression of the author. She was able to show that she has talent and imagination to impress many readers.
