Still suffering from a bitter divorce, twenty-seven year old Cassie Philips moves to rural Montana, vowing never to trust a man again.
Brad Dawson, a thirty-five year old mountain guide, is intrigued by his new neighbour. Why has the city girl settled so far from home?
Known as the Mountain Man by the locals, Cassie is soon wary of the predatory cowboy rancher, who never wants to settle down.
Unable to deny the attraction between them, they soon embark on a torrid sexual affair. Cassie is haunted by her past, and this "neighbors with benefits" relationship, is just what she's looking for.
Will there ever be more than just sex between them, or can they find real love, too?

What could be better than a hunky cowboy and multiple orgasms, all under a Montana backdrop? This erotic short addresses that very question and does it while burning up the pages.
This is book three in the Cowboy Bad Boys series, but I will say right off that it can be easily read as a standalone without missing anything.
Cassie wants a new life. Coming off a bitter divorce, she's ready to start fresh on the ranch she inherited from her uncle. She will never trust a man again and wants to live a life alone. That is, until she meets her sexy neighbor, Brad.
Brad doesn't know what the city girl is doing here, but he thinks she's nice to look at. He's been with basically every woman in the small Montana town in which they live, and he'd like to add her to the list. Too bad he seems to infuriate her at every turn. But after he saves her life, she decides to give in to her desires.
She doesn't want a relationship but being "neighbors-with-benefits" wouldn't be so bad. That suits Brad perfectly because he doesn't do relationships either, and that's when things start to get interesting.
Brad and Cassie are hot together. They seem to click between the sheets, and in front of the fire, and other places. I for one will never be able to look at a kitchen table the same way again. But what starts out as casual may end up more serious than either one of them expects.
I was instantly grabbed by this story from the first time that Cassie and Brad meet. It started off on the wrong foot because he thought she was a burglar and tried to keep her from breaking into her own house. I could just imagine her coming off a long road trip to get there and then being attacked by this hunk of a man. And the story just got better from there.
It's short (only about 80 pages), but the author did a great job of moving the story along while still developing their relationship in a short amount of space. We got a lot of back story about Cassie and why she's skittish about relationships, but I would have liked to have known more about what Brad's deal was.
The plot was pretty good, surprising for such a short book. The love scenes were great--very sensual, and they seemed to flow with the story. I loved how Brad made Cassie's fantasy come to life. It was definitely my favorite part of the book. Then we are treated to a wonderful HEA ending that warmed my heart.
Overall, a great short story with a good plot and plenty of heat. It kept me interested from beginning to end and left me with the warm and fuzzies.
