Cara Nubel is a trained Mundi, an emotionless assassin, but she's also the only child of Bellara's ruler Chancellor Nubel. When her planet erupts into civil war, her father is murdered, and Cara is forced into a crude cryosleep chamber in order for her to escape.

Dr. Hayden Marcone is shocked to find the chamber floating in space in the middle of the Military shipping lanes. When he finds a body inside, he's even more shocked. The recorded message she carries tells who she is, who to contact and why her survival is important, but Hayden's only concern is whether or not she'll even remember her own name once she comes to.

When Cara awakens, she's weak, confused, and surprised to learn she went from feeling nothing to feeling everything, including desire for the man who's helping her to get better. But when their lives are threatened and her new emotions take over, Cara finds she's more a killer when she feels and doesn't like what she sees in herself.

She finds herself in a struggle with the duel sides of herself. The good and the bad. How will she merge them and will Hayden even want her if she could, especially after seeing the bloodshed she's left in her wake?

Mundi is a word which seems so mild. It brings to mind the word "mundane". To learn it is a group of emotionless elite assassins with supernatural powers is startling to say the least. In this latest installment of the Entwined Fates series, Ms Michaels brings in another "princess". This time, she's a kick-ass stone cold killer.

Cara Nubel is the heir to her planet, which is currently undergoing civil strife. She's an oddity in that she is also a Mundi. Her special power is telekinesis.

This story is fast-paced and very enjoyable. Ms Michaels brings the Marcone family back through Hayden Marcone. Does this family only produce hot men and sexy women in their clan? Who will be featured next in a story? It matters not because I'll be eagerly waiting in line for a copy. This is because the world Ms Michaels creates is easy to understand and her characters are engaging. Both Hayden and Cara are likeable. They are so different from each other, yet they match well together. One is a killer and the other is a healer, yet they understand each other and they bond. Their sexual chemistry is erotic and sweet. This is one of the lighter stories with no sexual slavery or kinky BDSM. Still, it's a treat.

The best scene is one which Ms Michaels glosses over. For a vindictive person like me, it would have been nice to see more graphic details of mayhem and destruction. The Mundi make a mistake which triggers a reaction they did not expect from Cara. When she goes all "Dark Phoenix" on the perpetrators, it's awesome. This story is recommended to space opera lovers who love happily-ever-afters.
