This introduction to Sabrina York's new Tryst series definitely pulls you in with steamy desire and fun loving characters who aren't afraid to be emotional.

This short novella introduces readers to a group of friends who share a beach house together on Tryst Island. They sign in and out and register their decision to visit online, so everyone knows who will be there each weekend. Kristi has decided that she needs a break. Walking in on your boyfriend banging the best waitress in your own coffee house will do that to a person. She makes a last minute decision to head to the beach house and her friends to get her mind off of things and relax.

When she arrives on the Island, the only person at the house is Cam, the one man she has wanted since her college days. What she doesn't know is that Cam is also on the rebound, having found his girlfriend with another man in his bed. After Kristi wins a card game and Cam's forfeit is to kiss her, things get really steamy. As their desire for each other grows hotter and hotter, they both begin to realize their feelings are much stronger than they knew and that their relationship may be the one that has a chance.

The banter and conversation between all of the characters in this series makes it a pleasure to read. The conversations are clever and witty and the heat is intense. You really root for the hero and heroine to get together and I love that there isn't any ridiculous drama blocking them every time they try to get together. The story moves along at a great pace and I can't wait to see what else the series has in store for us.

For those of you who remember the ‘90s sitcom, Friends, REBOUND reminds me of what an "NC-17" rated version of Friends would have looked like. The first book in the five-book Tryst Island series contains an ending to the hero's and heroine's romantic relationship and can be read as a stand-alone book. Additionally, at only 84-pages long, it can easily be enjoyed as a quick, fun read in one sitting.

The Tryst Island series is the story of a group of college friends living in the Pacific Northwest who, after graduation, share a vacation home on Trystacomseh Island, or Tryst Island for short. Of course, as with any group of new adult friends, in addition to the friendship aspect, there is your fair share of secret crushes that lead to steamy encounters and potential romantic relationships.

The heroine in this book is Kristi Cross and the hero, Cameron Jackson. Both have had a secret crush on one another since college, and when both just happen to show up at the vacation home on the same weekend after breaking up with their respective significant others who cheated on them, sparks fly! But is this just a "rebound" thing, or can they turn into something more? Add in some complicating factors, like Kristi's sister, Bella, also having a crush on Cameron, and Holt, another college friend, having an interest in Kristi, and you have a recipe for a "hot" weekend in more ways than one!

I enjoyed Sabrina York's writing. This novella is well written and conveys a good amount of steaminess while still telling a story. Additionally, as this is the first book in the series, there is a fair amount of text devoted to introducing some of the other characters who will, no doubt, be looking for their romantic pair in future Tryst Island books to come. Holt, in particular, sounds quite promising. He is a dominant looking for his submissive, and he appears convinced that he can talk the right woman into his lifestyle. Book 3, Smoking Holt, is Holt's and Bella's story, and I look forward to reading that one to find out if Holt can be successful in his quest.

All in all, this was an easy, sexy read that, no doubt, will be enjoyable for lovers of erotic, contemporary new adult titles.
