About Us

Who We Are

RomanceReviews is run by a team of book-loving college professors. It started with a small book club and blossomed into what it is today. At first, the book club members suggested stories from all genres. Over time we noticed the genre most recommended was romance. Those were also the stories that got the most engagement and discourse from our group. Clearly, we all loved love stories. And we had finally found our cohort of people who shared a passion for romance novels.

To keep our romance book club alive through covid we met via videoconference. Since the group had already sort of gone digital, it felt like a natural progression to create an online presence around romance stories. A place where we could all interact, share our favorite books, and keep up to date with the latest news in the genre. RomanceReviews was born and we haven’t looked back since. Whether it’s book reviews, movie reviews, group readings, author interviews, or in-person mixers, our site has everything a hopeless romantic would want.

Our Heart’s Desire

Romance stories have always gotten a bad rap. It has a reputation for being cheesy, formulaic, and unrealistic. All those things can be true, but the romance genre has much more to offer in the way of moving, thought-provoking storytelling. We want to highlight the very best of the genre and introduce people to stories they may have never chosen to read on their own.

Of course, as romance lovers, we do have a soft spot for cheesy, over-the-top romantic gestures. We feature plenty of content that fits that description as well. Romance is nothing if not dramatic and emotional. Use RomanceReviews as the gateway to your romantic escape from reality. Dive into the world of lovers and the paths they take to get to each other. Our goal is to share our love for the romance genre and give people an in-depth view of the world of love in literature.

What We Do Best

Sure, we review the latest romance books on the market. Use us as a buying guide for your next novel. But we offer much more than that. RomanceReviews is best at taking a deep dive into the world of romance books at large.

Yes, this is a great book, but why is it so great? What made it resonate with so many people? Why do some people hate it? What does that say about their personality? Does your personal love language determine what kind of romance novels you’ll like? Not all romance content is shallow, and neither are we.

Human emotions are complicated, especially romantic feelings. This complexity is what drew a bunch of college professors to explore a genre seemingly full of cliches and fantasy. We show why the romance genre is a legitimate source for exceptional stories about the human condition. RomanceReviews is also good at recommending books with the steamiest love scenes because we are human and have needs.
